All students have a personal tutor that they will see every morning at the start of the day and this personal tutor should be the first point of contact for both students and parents if there are any problems or concerns.  

In addition to this, we have a Head of Year responsible for broader pastoral care and oversight. Tutor groups are placed in year groups and students are also placed into different Houses where they participate in exciting competitions and work across year groups on challenges, community projects as well as developing leadership skills via the elected student council. 

Each week, all students have an assembly that compliments the PSHE programme and supports British Values and the importance of the local community and active citizenship. There are also celebration assemblies and special events throughout the year to enhance pastoral opportunities and to support each student during their time in our Academy.  

PSHE (Personal, Health and Economic Education) is a core aspect of pastoral care and the bespoke curriculum is developed with our students in mind. The programme prepares students for life in modern Britain and each week explores a different theme, making use of discussion-based activities, debates and reflection.
